As humane educators our job isn't to tell people what to think or believe. We inspire, educate, and empower, so that people can consciously and consistently make choices aligned with their values.

However, as we've mentioned before, learning more about what influences people's decisions, and how we can help make it easier for people to make humane choices, is a vital piece to increasing our success.

Stanford University's Persuasive Tech Lab spends its time exploring how to influence people to change their behavior, and they've created this fabulous slideshow featuring "Top 10 Mistakes in Behavior Change... and Some Ways You Can Fix Them."

It has never been more important for people passionate about creating a better world to pay attention to how and why people make the choices they do. And most of these tips are relevant to nearly any context for changemaking, whether activism, teaching, public policy, or even our own personal habits.
