Sage Magazine Sponsors Young Environmental Writers Contest

Effective humane education can be manifested in a variety of ways, including through the power of writing.

Many people have been positively influenced by another's words, and Sage Magazine is sponsoring a writing contest for all non-professional writers who are passionate about sustainability and the natural world. (Sage is a student-run environmental arts and journalism publication of  the Yale University School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.)

According to their website:

"Sage is looking for works of journalism and literary nonfiction that address nature, the environment, and sustainability. We strive to publish work that blurs the boundaries between human and natural systems, that links environmental issues with social justice and wellbeing. The only qualification for entry, however, is that your piece has not been previously published."

Winners will receive cash prizes ($500 for 1st place, $300 for 2nd place, $200 for 3rd place).

The deadline for submissions is April 19, 2013. Send your entry to sagemagazine@gmail.com.
